By mid November the run is usually starting to peak. Initial run timing changes each year with late Sept. usually showing some early season fish. By Oct. we are typically catching fresh run fish.

Fall fishing can be fantastic with warm afternoons usually little wind and favorable weather. Late Fall and Winter can provide great fishing with many big fish showing. Feb,-Mar. can be outstanding with Spring on the way, the fish are bulking up and getting active in anticipation of their spawning run into the Delta’s main tributary rivers.

Most catches will show fish in the 3-10lb class. Stripers to over 30lbs are possible. We utilize fast sinking lines and shooting heads on 8-10wt. rods, blind casting to likely holding water. We also use floating lines and surface patterns for targeting these fish on top. Topwater fishing is a favored tactic of ours and we try to present that opportunity on every outing.
We practice catch and release.
